Challenges: Passive Fire Protection works – Works were carried out over ten commercial and listed sites in Mayfair on Saville Row and surround streets. Works to 150 plus fire doors, including full replacements and improvements along with numerous penetrations being stopped. Because many of the buildings were listed, we worked closely with the client and Heritage building surveyors to achieve the best results to make the works safe and still retaining the traditional and original fabric of the building.
Work Carried Out:
- Fire stopping throughout common areas
- Replacement and improvements on 150 doors, replacement of hinges, installation of strips, door lippings, new doors, frames, overhead closers.
- Working on ten sites in and around the Saville Row area of Mayfair
- Liaising with Heritage building surveyors as many of the buildings were listed
