Project Brief: The client wanted to make the existing kitchen more usable by removing the dividing wall to the garage which increased the overall floor area by 120%. This allowed for a more modern open plan layout offering excellent light and entertainment possibilities. In addition to this we formed a new downstairs WC.
Challenges: All works undertaken with client in residence, making protection and dust suppression especially important, the timescale to complete the project on time was very tight given the structural element to the work, meaning that scheduling all the trades had to be very strictly monitored. All site decisions were made through the PM and relayed back to the CA for approval before completing any extra works.
Work Carried Out:
- Strip out existing kitchen
- Demolish dividing wall and chimney breast
- Install underfloor heating
- Plaster all walls and ceiling
- Create a new ground floor WC
